Rob Scott, Woodworker

Rob had a love of working with wood from a very early age in his parents' basement in Hamilton, Ontario. After moving to Banff in the 80’s, he found himself outfitting friends' vans with tables and beds. When moving to BC found him with basements of his own to cover in sawdust, the love of working with wood started to flourish. Soon there were tables and chairs, fixing of fences, helping friends with repairs and various renovations when time allowed. When kids were grown and Rob found himself semi-retired, things took off when he acquired a lathe: the fun began and the chips were flying. Now Rob makes bowls, platters, vases, with whatever wood he has, or finds. He’s also found that epoxy has myriad uses by itself or in combination with wood to form hybrid pieces. He is a member of the Woodworkers Guild of Vancouver Island; he loves what he does and is looking forward to expanding his product line and his business.
